Negotiation App

The Psychology Negotiation App is a web based mock negotiation app created for the Boaz Keysar Lab in the Psychology Department of The University of Chicago. It was written in Javascript with a PHP/MySQL AJAX backend. The app provides a lobby for negotiators to chat in as well as create and join negotiation scenarios.

Each negotiation loads a pre-defined scenario that supplies shared public information as well as private information shown only to members of each team. Once each team has reviewed their information a timed negotiation phase starts where each team attempts to negotiate the best deal they can with the others given the information they have. Either side can propose an agreement and the opposing sides can accept, reject, or counteroffer. When time runs out or a proposal is approved by all parties the negotiation ends and the transcript is recorded for reporting and data mining.
